Villa Accomodation Details:
Set between the two beautiful and historic towns of Ceret and Collioure is the quaint Catalan village of Maureillas with basic shops. This charming villa is just a short walk away from the village centre. Vineyards and fields surround the area and neighbouring village of St. Jean Pla de Cort has two large lakes with picnic/play areas. Maureillas is a good starting point for many walks in the foothills of the Pyrenees. On Saturday evenings during July and August the village plays host to &lsquo - fetes&rsquo - with food, - music and dancing. Cé - ret, - 5 km, - has further shops, - supermarket and restaurants. Cé - ret also houses a Museum of Modern Art and hosts a busy Saturday morning market. In June until August the market also appears on Tuesday evenings when the town comes alive with live music, - whilst nearby Figueres is home to the Dali museum, - which is full of surrealist masterpieces. Dali himself is also buried here. Spain is easily accessible for a day trip (border is approx 6 kms down the road) with Barcelona just an hour and a half away. The Mediterranean sandy beaches of Argeles and St. Cyprien are approximately 30 min drive away and a spectacular mountain golf course can be found at Saint Laurent de Cerdant. In winter months, - the house is well appointed for access to the ski pistes, - an hour and a half away on the road to Andorra, - with all equipment available to hire at the resorts. Apart from the winter sport opportunities, - the Pyrenees Orientales, - boasting around 300 days of sunshine a year, - can afford the visitor a delightful out of season break for walking and exploring, - with the villa providing a warm and cosy retreat. International Airport: Perpignan 43 km/Girona 78 km.
The house is situated in a quiet residential area with off road parking. Sweeping sunny south-facing garden has views of the mountains on both sides which showcase the magnificent &lsquo - Canigou, - &rsquo - the Pyrenees&rsquo - highest mountain believed by the Catalans to have magical powers. Heated private pool 6 x 4 x 1.7m depth with security immersion alarm, - outdoor shower and sun loungers. Extensive terrace with outdoor dining table, - chairs and retractable sun canopy. Outside tiled barbecue area with stone BBQ, - sink and running water.
Ground floor with large airy living/dining room furnished with comfortable modern furniture and Satellite TV (Sky), - DVD and CD. Patio doors lead to terrace. Well equipped kitchen/dining area which features a range style cooker, - dishwasher and microwave. Patio doors to terrace. Utility room with American style fridge/freezer, - washing machine and tumble dryer. Bed 1: double. Bed 2: double. Bed 3: 2 singles. Large family bath/double washbasins/ shower. Sep WC. Mezzanine above garage not for client&rsquo - s use.
Saturday changeover. Cot and highchair available on request. Pool heating chargeable extra Jan - April and October - December, - payable in advance. Central heating on request Jan - April and October - December, - payable extra in advance. 2 additional fold-up beds are also available on request.
Linen: Included with towels. A chargeable welcome hamper is available, - and can be ordered when booking.
