Village of Gindou has annual performing arts festival with a week of open-air cinema in August. The pretty market town of Cazals, - 6 min drive, - has restaurants, - bars, - supermarket, - tennis, - weekly market and swimming lake with sandy beach. Historic town of Cahors with medieval towered bridge, - enchanting old quarter, - excellent market, - good range of shops and restaurants and wine tasting, - around 35 min drive. Attractive perched riverside villages of Domme and St Cirq Lapopie and spectacular pilgrimage centre of Rocamadour are all within 1 hour drive and make for an interesting day out. Good walking along country tracks from the house to nearby Les Arques for Zadkine painting, - sculpture museum and well-known restaurant. Canoeing at Cé - nac or Puy l&rsquo - Evê - que, - both around 30 min drive, - with choice of 3 golf courses within 60 km radius. International airport: Toulouse 140 km.
This lovely old stone house has been beautifully and creatively renovated with a high standard of furnishings to provide a character environment for your holiday. It sits just off a local road in spacious grounds in one of the prettiest areas of the Lot. Unspoilt views over the pool and garden. Huge fenced meadow (ideal for ball games) forming part of the property and rolling countryside. Security fenced pool 9 x 4.5 x 1-2m depth, - with surrounding sun terrace. Also, - partially covered terrace for respite from the sun. Large gravelled courtyard forms additional sitting area with shade from nearby trees. Table tennis. BBQ.
Accommodation on three levels. Large stone entrance hall leads into attractive, - kitchen/dining room (refectory table and benches seat 10-12) with dishwasher, - microwave and glazed doors leading to partially covered terrace for outdoor eating, - overlooking pool and garden. Adjacent utility room houses washing machine, - freezer and water softener. Large recreation room. Sep WC. Stairs from the kitchen/dining room to 1st floor. Spacious summer sitting room - with beautiful oak beams, - comfortable seating for 8-10, - glazed doors to tiled balcony with wooden steps down to lower terrace. A few steps up from summer sitting room to cosy winter sitting room with log-burner, - sofa, - satellite TV/DVD/CD players. French door to paved balcony with stone steps down to garden. Access from winter sitting room to Beds 1-3. Bed 1: double, - leads directly into Bed 2: children&rsquo - s room with bunk beds and cot. Bed 3: double. Bath/shower/WC. Feature divided staircase from winter sitting room to 2nd floor &ndash - one set of steps leads to Bed 4: double, - and the other to Bed 5: 2 singles. Bathroom with sloping ceiling has short bath, - shower and WC.
Further cot, - 2 highchairs and babygate on request. Central heating and choppped wood on request, - £ - 75 payable at time of booking.
