Restaurants, - shops, - tennis, - at Villeré - al and Castillonnè - s 6 and 7 km, - both of which are typical ' - ' - bastides' - ' - or fortified towns that bear witness to the English presence here during the 100 Years war. Golf at Castelnau 15 min drive. Swimming and leisure facilities at Lougrate Lake 15 min drive. Bergerac with its lovely lanes and shops also has great choice of restaurants 35 min drive. This area is truly rural France and you are ideally placed for visiting the famous vineyards of Monbazillac 27 km, - and for forays into the rest of the Bergerac wine-growing region. Historic sites and châ - teaux abound in the area, - but the spectacular situation of the châ - teau at Beynac-et-Cazenac, - 1 hour drive, - high on cliffs above the river, - makes it particularly worth a visit. Canoeing and swimming on both the Dordogne and Lot rivers. International airport: Bergerac 32km.
